Yeovil Music Centre

Orchestra.

Yeovil Community Orchestra

has vacancies for musicians on all instruments.

We play a wide selection of music and are expanding our repertoire each week. The existing repertoire includes West Side Story, Vaughan Williams English Folk Song Suite, Handel's Water Music & Fireworks Suites, Poet and Peasant Overture, Schindlers List, The Gadfly, Swan Lake excerpts, The Last Spring, an original and extremely popular Selection of John Barry themes, Pirates of the Caribbean, plus Christmas and Festive Music. We also play selections from theatrical shows, and sometimes combine with Yeovil Community Choir to perform joint items.

The Orchestra played, by invitation, at the South Somerset Music Spectacular in March 2012, and was very well received. We began performing our own concerts two days later. We greatly enjoy being invited to play a wide selection of evergreen seasonal favourites at festive events each year... for example, in December 2017 and 2018 at The Swan Theatre.

Whatever your standard of musical virtuosity we can provide dedicated music parts to satisfy and stimulate your musical ability. All instruments are welcome. We always need string players of any standard.

Even if you have not played for many years this orchestra is a great place to re-aquaint yourself with your musical skills, and to improve and develop in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

We welcome adult players of all standards and on any instrument! Ian.
